Quantum of Solace

An actor’s second Bond film can be a perilous affair. Lazenby didn’t even get there and for Dalton, “License to Kill” was his last outing. Brosnan didn’t fulfill the promise of “Goldeneye” until his third (and best as Bond) film “The World is not Enough,” with the been-there/done-that “Tomorrow Never Dies” coming in between.

Now we have Daniel Craig inhabiting the role in “Quantum of Solace” which is probably the most elaborate and needlessly complicated way of saying “a little bit of peace” possible in the English language. As history has shown, the second film doesn’t necessarily have to be a complete success, it only has to be good enough to allow its star the opportunity to have a go at a third installment.

James Bond - Quantum of Solace

‘Quantum of Solace’ continues the high octane adventures of James Bond from ‘Casino Royale’. Picking up literally days where the previous film left off, after being betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Having captured Mr. White, and in pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and ‘M’ interrogate Mr. White who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper to steal Bond’s casino winnings is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Max Payne

The movie starts with Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) struggling to surface in a frosted river while also narrating. The film then cuts to one week earlier, showing Max working as a clerk in the cold-case unit and his obsession with finding the fleeing killer who brutally murdered his wife, Michelle, and newborn daughter.
